For January 2009 we present a special audio newsletter edition, featuring a conversational interview between Doris Darvasi and Laurie Geschke. This CD edition was sponsored by private donation, and commemorates the 25th anniversary of REAL Women of British Columbia in 2008.

REAL Women of BC is a pro-life, pro-family, registered non-profit, non-partisan, non-denominational, grassroots political lobbying organization and family advocacy group.
REAL Women of BC was founded in 1983 and incorporated in 1993. We have established a series of positions on issues which affect women and their families and we publish a regular newsletter which goes out to our members and supporters. Its purpose is to inform people about what is currently happening in legislation and in society which will effect them. Where possible, we give contact information to encourage readers to express an opinion on the legislation or the issue. We have acted as an intervenor in the Supreme Court of BC and the Appeal Court of BC with a group of organizations; and we write briefs and present them to all levels of government and their agencies: local, regional, provincial, federal and international. We also put out an intermittent, internet-based email bulletin on issues of concern as needed.
REAL Women of BC has sent individuals or delegations to International Conferences in Huairou, China (outside of Beijing) (1995), Istanbul, Turkey (1996), New York, New York (1998), and Geneva, Switzerland (1999), as well as provincial and national conferences across our land since 1985.
We are directed by an elected board of volunteers and operate on funds raised from our memberships and donations. We neither apply for nor receive government grants.
