Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Hear Ye!&&.. REAL Women of BC hosting National Conference in June 2006!
Mark your calendars for Friday evening, June 2 and all day Saturday June 3, 2006. Conference to be held at Cariboo Road Christian Fellowship, 7200 Cariboo Road, (Cariboo is just off Gaglardi, between the Hwy 1 exit and the Lougheed Hwy) Burnaby, BC
Join us to hear our own Gwen Landolt and other fabulous speakers. Bring family and friends.
Dear members, Your provincial chapter is hosting the REAL Women National Conference this year. Four BC women are on the national board - Marion Bremner, President of the Kelowna chapter of REAL Women, Doris Darvasi, Laurie Geschke, and I. We are really looking forward to hosting the other national board members and hope to have time to take them around our beautiful city and introduce them to some of the history of BC.
The theme for our conference is Leading the Way for the Next Generation. It will be focusing on positive ways we can be an effective voice in the civic arena. Our own dear Gwen Landolt will be one of the featured speakers. We will also highlight ways we can pass on our values to our children as well as those young people we mentor. Also featured will be young adults who are politically active. Bring your young men and women along with you so we can encourage and empower them to take up the torch for family values! Mark your calendars for Friday evening, June 2nd for an Italian dinner followed by the provincial and national Annual General Meetings, and Saturday, June 3rd for the all day conference, with a continental breakfast available during registration. REAL Women has been busy on your behalf since our AGM in June. Besides planning for the national conference, we have had television interviews prior to the election on the national daycare proposal, fielded questions from news media on issues affecting women, participate in the Defend Marriage BC meetings, and with that group put on a public forum in Surrey with Heather Stilwell as the keynote speaker and representatives from Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Sikh and Hindu faiths speaking as well. We also had the opportunity to speak at various functions.
Looking forward to seeing you at the June conference, Sharen Frewing President, REAL Women of BC
