National REAL Women Conference The speakers were great; the venue was spacious; food excellent; and the company superb. Although we would have loved to have seen more of you attend the national conference, it was nonetheless a great success according to the evaluation forms which were returned. Thank you to all of you who took the time to fill them in. You can find the write-ups on the speakers in the July/August issue of REALity. Friday evening, we enjoyed an Italian dinner while being serenaded by two brothers playing guitar and violin in a room decorated with an Italian theme. The provincial AGM took place on Friday evening after the dinner and speaker Senator Anne Cools. The following are the new board members of REAL Women of BC: Doris Darvasi: President Mary Dinesen: Treasurer Catherine Yeung: Secretary Lillian Middleton: Membership Secretary Hilda Krieg: Director Laurie Geschke: Director The position of Vice-President is presently vacant. We wish to thank retiring board members, Monika Devereau, Shirley Frank and Sharen Frewing who served on the board in various capacities. Each of them worked hard for REAL Women of BC while coping with a variety of difficult personal and family situations at home. Thank you for your dedication and your willingness to get involved. We are delighted that our own Laurie Geschke has been elected as the National President of REAL Women of Canada. We know Laurie will do a fabulous job.
