Amber Alert saves a child
On July 27, a friend of our organization who runs a website, www.canadachildrenfirst.com, received ane-mail from Zehra Lurie, an investigative reporter for CBC The National.
He called Canada Children First because of an Amber Alert which had been issued for Zachary Miller by the RCMP in Saskatchewan. Zachary had been abducted along with another First Nations boy, Jordan BruyÀre,by convicted child sex offender Peter Whitmore.
Canada Children First was one of many organizations which posted the Amber Alert on its main website and on 14 other affiliated websites. Both boys were located the following day and the criminal was apprehended and held in custody because of the Amber Alert issued by the RCMP and the collaboration of the inhabitants of Kipling, Saskatchewan.
Pat Beaujot, a resident of Kipling, recognized the suspect's vehicle because of the Amber Alert and acted in a courageous and intelligent manner in order to alert the RCMP and keep watch over the location until they arrived.
Pat's story is covered on the Canada Children First website. Check it out!
This event was a prime example of how Federal and provincial Law Enforcement can work together to prevent crime or stop it in its tracks.
All Canadians need is direction and they are a willing and able assistant for law enforcement.
The Canada Children First website is currently almost completed, and the organization is doing name searches, and debating whether to be structured as a non-profit or for-profit NGO. Canada Children First will be an online internet community resource as well as a real organization, based in Vancouver and in Ottawa, and eventually, in all major centres across Canada. It will serve as a Resource Centre to educate the public on crime prevention in general and specifically with regard to predators, sex offenders and drug dealers. The organization currently has a subscriber list of over 2,000 people across Canada, even though the website is still in its infancy. They want to be available to the public 24 hours a day,and this is only possible through having an organization with offices and an online community.
Canada Children First has associates in Vancouver, Ottawa and in the United States. Their plan is to establish a model organization in Vancouver and then replicate it in key towns in Canada and in the United States.
This will build a stronger Canada. One of the founders main aims is the creation of a page online which is designed to raise funds for the Canadian Police Association so that they may create more Special Investigative Units on a federal level, which will work 24/7 to combat online child pornography and pedophiles and pederasts in the community.
Vancouver City Police had such a unit until last year when it was shut down due to lack of federal funding. Canada Children First intends to enlist the financial contributions of both major Corporations and the public on a national level in order to promote the urgent need of these special units. Canada Children First will raise funds and ask the Federal Government to match the amount raised to provide for specialized equipment, training and, especially, ongoing counseling for the officers who are involved in this disturbing work. This counselling is what makes Scotland Yard and the British Police the best in the world as far as combatting crimes against children. We can do the same in Canada, given the funding.
The organization also intends to enlist the help of Christian lawyers who can help to propose an alternative to the current adversarial family law industry. Canada Children First's contention is that most marriages do not need to end in divorce; they want to publish and provide materials that give families alternatives to divorce.
Canada Children First is politically active and supports the Conservative Party; they welcome all subscribers, but make it clear that they believe in the traditional concept of family and marriage. They stand by Mr. Harper and Justice Minister Toews in helping Canada combat organized crime and crime in general, as well as preserving the traditional aspects of family life.
The organization is setting up a bi-weekly Newsletter which will go out every two weeks to subscribers. We will make available for purchase books, ebooks and training material for law enforcement officers, teachers, social workers, and others who work with children.
There is so much to be done, but Canada Children First's primary focus is on training the public to assist law enforcement in the eradication of criminals who target children and families. If you are interested in joining this organization's web community, and receiving its newsletter and email alerts, please contact them through their website.
