An inside look at the UN Have you ever wondered what is going at those UN conferences? Well, now you can find out. Join us on Saturday, April l4 at 10:30 am(right after the Annual General Meeting of REAL Women of BC) to listen to Ginger Malacko. She was one of the speakers at last year’s national REAL Women conference and amazed the conference attendees with her knowledge and insight. Bring your questions.
Ginger was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, the oldest of four children. She became interested in lobbying for pro-life/pro-family issues when her mother, Kim, founded a local youth group. Ginger participated in several local community projects but eventually became passionate about the United Nations after attending the Millennium Forum at the UN headquarters in New York in 2000. She began to attend the UN as a representative of REAL Women of Canada that same year and has represented the organization at more than a dozen UN commissions and summits in New York and Geneva.
Ginger particularly enjoys teaching life and family issues and has trained and led several lobby groups of Albertan teens at the UN. She has been invited to speak at various church, community and pro-family/pro-life events throughout BC and Alberta. She has also written and directed several presentations to the UN delegates on the issues of sex education, HIV/AIDS, and child pornography. She is living in Lethbridge and works as a receptionist and an interior designer. Ginger has been working with youth and women’s programs in her church for the last four years and is presently teaching music to nursery-aged children.
