Alternative Vaccines According to Dr. Rene Leiva, an Ottawa family doctor and member of Canadian Physicians for Life, vaccines have been developed since the l960s using human cell lines taken from abortions. Parents should not be forced to vaccinate their children with medication that contains tissue from aborted fetuses, says a group of physicians. Physicians for Life is particularly concerned with Sanofi Pasteur’s “Pentacel” that protects against diphtheria, tetanus, wooping cough (pertussis), polio and haemophilus B. Pentacel has been used since l997 as the initial immunization and l8-month booster for children. Leiva began to look into the vaccine after parents claimed usage of it would go against their conscience. She says that she wants for parents to have a choice so they don’t stop vaccinating the children. Leiva points out that choices are available such as “Pediacel” which protects against the same deceases as “Pentacel”. A day will never be any more than what you make of it. (Josh S. Hinds)
