C-250 and the Marriage Motion

Bill C-250 was approved by the House of Commons on September 17, 2003. It
was introduced in the Senate Sept 22, 2003 for first reading, and went to
second reading and debate in the Senate Sept 23, 2003.

The Marriage Motion of September 16 was a motion (not a prospective law). Currently there is no law defining marriage as exclusively a legal contract between a man and a woman.

World Bank Atlas, 2002 edition reports that 25% of the Chinese population lack access to a source of safe water, whereas 83% of childbearing age women have access to contraception. In Vietnam it’s 44% without safe water, but 75% who have contraception available.
