Message from the President

The newsletter this time is in a different format — no banner and much shorter. We have chosen to go this route in order to keep the weight down, allowing us to include postcards regarding Bill_250.

Please send one in yourself, (no stamp required) and distribute the others to friends, family members, others who are concerned about this legislation. Time is short, the need is great. Make sure your opinion is heard!

The vision is to send one million postcards to the Prime Minister, asking him to uphold Marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The files are now available at www.kernelmagic.org/cfm.html ready for download and printing: There are two cover choices, and many bilingual versions, so different communities or groups may choose to download their version of choice and print out as many as necessary for their members. The postcards will be sent to Senator Ann Cools'' office, where they will be collected and delivered to the PM in early April. The keys to the Postcard campaign are national" and "numbers," which are necessary to attract attentions from the media, the government, and the political parties. The Postcard is easy to use and distribute, but powerful as a symbol to express the wish of ordinary Canadians.

While the postcard campaign will try to make an impact nationally, a learning to vote campaign will empower us all to participate in local political activites. Many Canadians do not realize that the candidate selection process of various parties is crucial to the election process for it determines who we will be voting for during the election! The Learn to Vote Pamphlet is a step_by_step guide to Canadians to participate in the various levels of the political process. The took may empower Canadians and significantly impact the outcomes of certain ridings in the coming election The pamphlet is also available for download at www.kernelmagic.org/cfm.html

One another topic, in 2002, more that two million dollars of taxpayers’ money found its way onto the financial statement for Planned Parenthood Association of BC (PPABC), including more than a quarter of a million dollars in casino money. Recently, PPABC quietly changed its offical name to Options for Sexual Health, which more accurately reflects its activities of promoting sexual promiscuity and universal access to abortion.

Please watch you local school programs looking for the new name, Options for Sexual Health, to show up as a course author, sponsor or resource and communicate with your School Trustees about your concerns about this old organization under its new name...

And don’t forget to send in your membership renewal for 2004, and sign up a friend for their first year of membership without charge. Thanks for your support — without it we could not be as effective as we have been for over twenty years as a volunteer organization!
